Siagon

We made it to Saigon (the old town area is still called Saigon and the whole city is Ho Chi Minh) after our long wait in Danang.  Got a taxi and got to the hotel Ms Yang 's Homestay.  It is right in old town and walking distance to what we wanted to see.  Had dinner at a beef Pho (soap) place down from the hotel and it was really good.  This e next day we went walking the town.  The streets are wider with nice side walks and the streets are payed out real nice making it easy to walk and keep track of were you are.  We did the War Remnants museum (propaganda)(Mom bought a book about a VC doctor who was killed in the war from a guy who lost a leg, and both hands and eye to a land mine after the war) thePresidential  place, Post Office, Opera House and market.  That evening we took a foodie tour with XO Tours for 4 hours.  The high light of our stay in Saigon.  The tour was on motor cycles driven by local girls and we had about 12 tourist.  It was like a trill ride going through the the traffic on the bikes.  I wish I had a GoPro as words can not describe the feeling of being out in that traffic on a bike.  We had 3 food stops, a beef soup (not the same as the night before as it had different noodles), a barbecue place with frogs, prawns, goat and beef, then a seafood place with fish, duck fetus eggs (yes we tried it and it was not that bad), we can't remember the other dishes but all of ot was very good.  We also were driven to different parts of town that had their own distinctions, China town, Korean town (new section) and poor section.  The drivers were really nice.  My driver was working two jobs from 7 am to 10 pm 6 days a week then a morning tour on Sunday, for herself and to put her younger brother through school.  Mom's driver was a university student.  The next day we were picked up for our Mekong Delta tour.
