Hanoi
Hanoi is a crazy but vibrant city where even crossing the street is an adventure! There are so many motor cycles and cars that crossing the street safely is a challenge. We were told to just walk out into the street and keep a steady pace while the vehicles will try to avoid you. It seems to work! John calls it organized chaos. In America it would be Seen as a suicide attempt. We hear Saigon is worse. The noise and air pollution also constant. But we enjoyed our couple of days there. Our hotel was very comfortable and the food was great. The Highlights we enjoyed were visiting the prison infamously nicknamed "Hanoi Hilton" during the Vietnam war. Some of our Pilots were kept there including Senator John Mcain, and tortured. We viewed Ho Chi Mann and toured his park. We enjoyed walking around and just watching people especially at the lake. We also watched a water puppet show were the puppeteers stood in the water behind a curtain and worked the puppets in the water with themes based on the rice fields and lakes.
