Sa pa area

We took the night train to Sa Pa Sunday night, leaving at 9pm. Did not get much sleep as the train was very noisy and bumpy.  Our home stay picked us up in Sapa with 2 motor cycles, I was skeptical at first of them caring our bags and us.  My bike was a little over loaded and had some trouble climbing the 15 k rough road.  Our home stay was in a Red Mong village.  The home was what we would call a shed or out building. One large open space with some bedrooms around the edge no windows and not air tight.  We had two openings that could be shut as windows in our room.  They did have a new bathroom set up out side.  The women were doing embroidery every chance they could as they sell the stuff to tourist and for their own cloths.   The food was all grown on the farm, rice, corn, begs, and meat.   The water buffalo came from some where else.  The meals were great.  We did short hikes one up to amounting pass, and the others to the Red and Black Mong villages.  A lot of people come to this area to hike.
